I ...Dear Deepa,
Nice and informative, as always. ☺️
I want to clarify- is it necessary for the front and back to be the same in Chamba Rumal? I mean, is it the mandatory quality of this embroidery? Is that the reason why different variations of the Satin Stitch are applied? Or, is the front and back being same just an option? Your response will be valuable to me.

❤️ Sarahsarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13905052070386469870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36284411.post-20973217809837846402020-11-09T11:52:56.550+05:302020-11-09T11:52:56.550+05:30Thank you Eva, you're most welcome to send me ...Thank you Eva, you're most welcome to send me a picture of your heirloom quilt.Deepa https://www.blogger.com/profile/14196651887074374890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36284411.post-90863689244359515332020-11-08T05:01:28.067+05:302020-11-08T05:01:28.067+05:30I have a nakshi Kantha quilt, which I have had sin...I have a nakshi Kantha quilt, which I have had since I was a child. I have never claimed that I am making a chamba rumal, if you read the title - it is just a stitch analysis and that too after looking at research papers. Secondly, please read the post again. The back of this embroidery is not same because for one I am working on assumptions and secondly normal long and short stitch has been used and has been clearly pointed with an arrow in one of the pics. Thank you for your guidance.Deepa https://www.blogger.com/profile/14196651887074374890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36284411.post-74424196934928240022020-08-18T10:54:35.652+05:302020-08-18T10:54:35.652+05:30Dear Dr.Rohini, due acknowledgement has been given...Dear Dr.Rohini, due acknowledgement has been given underneath the picture of the document from which the image was taken. The other side of your embroidery is not the same. The long and short stitch is the satin stitch and then it uses stem stitch for the outline worked by a special method and dandi tanka is also used for outlining the embroidery and double satin stitch is used for filling the spaces with long area to be covered.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04697806104725101773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36284411.post-17875114156653040022020-03-04T09:00:13.494+05:302020-03-04T09:00:13.494+05:30Oh, my, what meticulous work and such a piece of a...Oh, my, what meticulous work and such a piece of art.
